Scholarship Program (SCH)

With the goal of transforming lives of pupils with disabilities through formal educational support for dignified life, the scholarship program was introduced by the FL together with its international partner, The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (FELM/ Nepal), in 2006.

Scholarship distribution is usually conducted in project districts. However, children with disabilities from across the country are granted scholarship to pursue studies in the capital. Annually, about 400 pupils with disabilities get scholarship grant from the FL.

The FL support the pupils with disabilities with educational material support in their respective schools. Such materials are Braille paper, speaker, pen drives, books and other study materials.  Also, FL has felt the need to develop educational materials for pupils with disability in Nepal. Currently, the FL is trying to develop necessary educational materials.  Moreover, the FL provides other material support like school uniform, bed and utensils on a regular basis.

To support the learning of pupils with disabilities, the FL has been supporting its partner schools (special and resource schools) with the teachers training. Such trainings provide teachers with pedagogical knowledge and expertise.
